Germany today removed several countries from the region from the “red list” of countries at risk for travel due to the crown.

Among those countries are the United States, Canada, Switzerland, Austria, some regions of Greece, but also Croatia, the Robert Koch Institute for Infectious Diseases announced, Reuters reported.

The new rules for travel will be valid from Sunday, the Institute stated.

The German list includes 19 countries and regions that are no longer considered risk areas, given the reduced rate of coronavirus infection.

Countries that are no longer on the travel risk list are Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, Cyprus, Lebanon, Moldova, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia, Serbia, Ukraine and the United States.

The same applies to some areas in Portugal, Norway, Greece and Switzerland.

Despite the new list, the German government continues to advise citizens to avoid tourist trips abroad.

Germany is expected to lift most restrictions on the coronavirus by July 1.
